An expatriate worker is being treated for serious injuries to the head following a fall from a building in Gaafu Alifu Atoll Kooddoo.

An official of MIFCO revealed that the incident occurred Thursday morning and that it involves an Indian worker. The official added that the worker had fallen off from a height of about 20 feet and that it had caused severe head injuries. The worker has since been taken to the Gaafu Alif Atoll Hospital.

The official further noted that works are currently underway to transfer the patient to Malé City for further treatment.

An official at the hospital revealed that the worker had sustained serious head trauma, including bleeding into the brain putting the worker in a serious condition.
