Mohamed Azad has been appointed as Financial Controller at Ministry of Finance and Treasure.

Azad's appointment follows the resignation of former Financial Controller Fathimath Razeena.

Prior to his appointment as Financial Controller, Azad held various roles at Finance Ministry including the Ministry's SOE Reform Consultant and SOE Financial Consultant. Azad has also filled the role of Head of Accounts and Finance at Khazana Maldives as well as Head of Intelligence at Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). Azad also serves as a Board Member at Maldives Islamic Bank.

Azad, who holds a Master of Science in Finance and Bachelor of Business Administration is also a CFA Charterholder.
