Bank of Maldives (BML) on Monday announced a Sports Scholarship for top athletes as part of its 12 high impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate BML's 40th Anniversary in November.

BML said the Sports Scholarship is aimed at supporting athletes to achieve their sporting potential through targeted programs. BML said the bank will provide three fully-funded scholarships for top national athletes to train and develop at recognised high performing training centres worldwide.

BML will manage the scholarships together with the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) and is open to all registered national sports associations.

“BML remains committed to playing an important part in developing sporting talent in the country through youth development programs and partnerships with national associations. Today, we are further delighted to announce our new Sports Scholarship to support top athletes to achieve greatness on the national and international stage. Our monthly initiatives continue to focus on giving back to the community and investing in the future of the country,” BML’s In-charge and Acting MD, Aishath Noordeen said.
