Bank of Maldives (BML) has revealed that as part of commemorating the International Day of Sign Languages, they will support the Maldives Deaf Association in developing a sign language dictionary.

BML noted in a press statement that this is part of the work the Association is undertaking to empower and promote the rights of the deaf community in the Maldives.

"Additionally, to ensure inclusive and accessible services are provided for customers with disabilities, BML held sign language training sessions for staff in partnership with the Association," the statement added.

In 2020, the Bank also held a sign language training session for staff in partnership with Maldives Deaf Association.
