Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has made revisions to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) submission guidelines.

EPA made an announcement on Tuesday that the revisions were made due to constant challenges in implementing some of the clauses in the regulation. As such, EPA has advised environmental consultants not to submit a single EIA for approval of multiple developmental projects at once.

"After 23 September, if EIA is submitted for more than one project or island as one report or document, the application will be rejected," EPA said.

However, it remains at EPA's discretion to approve more than one EIA as a single report in the event EPA finds the environmental impact will be lesser for the multiple developmental projects.
