Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has revealed that over 1,400 individuals had expressed their interest to purchase a unit from the Vinares Flats being constructed in Hulhumale' Phase II.

The housing units being developed by HDC consists of 10 towers with three-bedroom and three-bathroom apartment units. A total of `1344 apartments of 902sqft and 883sqft are being developed.

Applications to buy the apartments were opened by HDC on July 15th, which remained open until September 15th.

The corporation on Tuesday revealed that a total of 1413 individuals had applied to purchase the apartments.

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure will then decide on whether the applicants meet the required criteria or not. After assessing their living conditions, the Ministry will rank them on a score-based system, after which the applicants will receive the opportunity to choose a unit.

HDC will then conduct a Financial Eligibility Evaluation, after which the applicant will receive their unit. If an applicant is unable to meet the requirements, their unit will be passed onto another applicant on the waiting list.

The corporation further added that they are completing the final works of the flats and that the units will be handed over to the applicants within the first quarter of 2023.
