Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS) has extended the deadline for Census 2022 due to the shortage of enumerators.
MBS began Census 2022 on Tuesday with 4,000 enumerators. Data collection deadline was set for 25 September.
However, MBS released a statement on Friday, announcing that the data collection for Greater Male' Region will be completed by 27 September. MBS said this was due to the shortage of enumerators.
The enumerator teams will be collecting data daily from 0900hrs to 1900hrs, Saturday through Thursday. Enumerators will collect data on Fridays between 0900hrs to 1100hrs and 1430hrs to 1900hrs.
MBS said that once the listing is complete, enumerators will revisit homes and work places to gather details.
