Minister Imran Abdullah has stated that President Yameen does not even come close to President Solih and his negotiation skills.

Minister Imran made the statement while speaking at the opening ceremony of Viavathi Raajje Conference at L. Gan. Imran said that President Solih follows the way of the Quran and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in his leadership.

Imran added that negotiation skills are crucial to a good leadership, which President Solih displays.

Imran's comments have received backlash from religious scholars belonging to PPM/PNC coalition. As such, they have stated that a comparison cannot be drawn between the Prophet and President Solih.

Minister Imran responded to the criticism on Twitter on Wednesday night, stating that former president Yameen knows well that he lacks negotiation skills.

"Even if some people find it hard to believe, president Yameen doesn't even come close to President Solih's negotiation skills. Both of them are well aware of this truth", Imran said.

With the presidential elections drawing closer, Minister Imran has been commending President Solih.

President Solih has expressed his interest in running for presidency with the existing coalition.
