'Lets Do It! Maldives' has announced that World Cleanup Day activities will be held in Himmafushi island this year.

World Cleanup Day is an annual global social action program that is aimed at combating the global solid waste problem, including the problem of marine debris. The program is coordinated by the global organization 'Let's Do It! World'.

'Lets Do It! Maldives' said activities will be held across Maldives, but that the main event organised by them would be held in K. Himmafushi on Saturday.

A total of 150 countries will be partaking in World Cleanup Day 2022.

The cleanup activities in Himmafushi will center around cleaning the beach, the lagoon, and the island as well.
