President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the enumerators partaking in Census 2022.
During the meeting held at Dharubaaruge on Tuesday morning, President Solih stated that public support is vital in gathering information for the Census 2022. He added that the enumerators are performing a significant, but difficult task.
President Solih also spoke to the data collection teams during the meeting. He stated that the information gathered for Census 2022 will be vital in planning the country's future. He added that the census data will aid in facilitating developmental plans and to identify societal issues that need to be addressed.
President Solih also inquired on the data collection process for Census 2022, and observed the resource mobilisation operations at Dharubaaruge.
The Census 2022 is carried out Maldives Bureau of Statistics (MBS). The listing operation will be carried out on the 13 – 14 September 2022, and the main operation will continue from 17 – 25 September 2022.
The MBS has recruited over 4,000 enumerators for Census 2022, of which around 2,000 enumerators will be working in the Malé area.
