An additional suspect has been arrested in relation to the attacks on the Police officers.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) media officer told 'One' on Monday that a 20-year-old has been arrested under a court order.

Previously, MPS arrested a 20-year-old and an 18-year-old near Euro Store, Majeedhee Magu, while they were trying to flee on a GN motorbike after they attacked the off-duty officers.

The two men had previous criminal records, MPS said.

Criminal Court has ordered the two men to be remanded until the case is over.

Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Hameed had previously said that the off-duty officers were attacked by a gang that operates in Henveiru.

MPS said the officers had received medical treatment at ADK Hospital but did not give any further details.
