Drug Enforcement Department (DED) Officer Abdul Rahman Rafeeu has been given 10 days to appoint a lawyer for his trial.
Rafeeu was arrested after videos were leaked online of him allegedly engaging in homosexuality with Bangladesh resident, Alamghir.
Spokesperson of Prosecutor General's Office, Public Prosecutor Ahmed Shafeeu told 'One' on Sunday that Rafeeu has been given 10 days to appoint a lawyer for himself.
His trial is scheduled for 18 September.
Meanwhile, Alamghir has been found guilty of homosexuality based on his confession and sentenced to 7 months in Jail. Nazim Sattar - whose trial is ongoing - has also been found guilty, and awaits verdict this week.
Former MP Nasheed's closed trial is currently ongoing.
