Criminal Court has scheduled a hearing for the money laundering and bribery case against former president Yameen Abdul Gayyoom regarding the lease of V. Aarah, for Saturday.
Criminal Court's media official told 'One' that the hearing has been scheduled for Saturday although they did not disclose a time.
Yameen's hearing on Thursday was cancelled due to him being unwell. As such, the Prosecutor General's Office requested for the hearing to be held on the weeking.
At this stage in the trial, the defendants witness testimonies are being held in the court. As such, Criminal Court's Chief Judge Ahmed Shakeel had stated on Wednesday that statements would be taken from three witnesses on Thursday.
During the hearing on Wednesday, Yameen's defence team presented Deputy Mayor Ahmed Nareesh as a defence witness.
