SIMDI Group has announced they are in the final stages of launching the world's first luxury airline designated for leisure travel, together with ARABESQUE.

SIMDI Group said it is expanding in hospitality and travel industry in part to mark the 50th year of tourism in the Maldives.

SIMDI Groups Managing Director, Mishal Ibrahim Mohamed Didi said the company is looking forward to venture into luxury leisure air travel.

"As the first all-premium class airline from the Maldives, we are looking to operate to 60 destinations across the globe", Mishal said.

Tero Taskila, CEO of the airline, said that they are proud to launch the world's first luxury leisure airline in the Maldives.

"We are working with the authorities to launch the airline to many new destination", he said.

He added that the company appreciated the support they have received from the Administration and the relevant authorities.

SIMDI Group has been providing high-quality service in the hospitality and commercial industry of the Maldives for the past 25 years.

ARABESQUE is a UAE based investment company founded by aviation professionals from Lufthansa, Qatar, and other airlines.

Although the signing ceremony for the airline was held today, SIMDI Group and ARABESQUE have not revealed the name of this new and upcoming luxury airline.

However, 'One' has come to know that they are working on obtaining all the necessary approvals from Civil Aviation Authority.
