Ministry of Defence's Directorate of Aviation Security Administration (DASA) has approved the usage of Rapiscan systems installed at four of the airports being operated by Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL).
RACL stated that for the establishment of the Aviation Security Screening Technology list DASA is working with airport operators to phase out the old screening technology to new screening technology equipment, in order to meet the international and National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) requirements.
The machines were installed at the HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Aiport, Sh. Funadhoo Airport, Gn. Fuvahmulah Airport, and GDh. Maavarulu Airport.
WIth this, all the machines being used at RACL airports are now in compliance with the Maldives Aviation Security Screening Technology List (MASSTL) by DASA.
WIth the four new machines being a Rapiscan system, and RACL being the authorized service provider for the brand, any issues to the machines will also bee solved rather quickly.
