A fire has broken out in S. Hithadhoo maakilhi area.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said on Wednesday they received reports of a fire around 1745hrs.

MNDF's Southern Area Command is working on containing the fire, MNDF said. However, the fire is continuing to spread.

A fire incident was reported in maakilhi area in February 2022 as well. The fire was put out after approximately 12 hours.
