Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)'s CEO Adam Azim has stated that the mini bus service in Male' City kicked off with great support from the residents.
Azim tweeted that 2,257 passengers sought the mini bus service on the first day. He also appealed to all vehicles to be parked in their allocated zones.
"We appreciate the support for the bus service by the residents", Azim said.
Male' City mini bus service is operating with 40 stops across Male'.
But ticket fares have been set at MVR 7, however, bus rides will be free for the first two weeks, MTCC said. Toddlers under the age of 3 years, senior citizens, and school children in uniforms will travel for free on the bus.
A total of 18 mini buses will operate in Male' City.
