Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced the mini bus services in Male’ City under their Raajje Transport Link (RTL) Project.
Mini bus services were last provided in 2011 in the capital city. However, it was discontinued after nearly a year of launching the operations.
The service commenced at 05:45 am on Monday, with MTCC CEO Adam Azim and Maldivian Deputy Managing Director, Jennifer Adam traveling on the first bus.
The buses will travel through 40 stops across three routes in the city.
Mini bus ticket fares have been set at MVR 7, however the bus rides are free for toddlers under the age of 3, senior citizens, and students in school uniform.
