Vice President (VP) Faisal Naseem has said that every individual needs to embrace their role and responsibility within society to foster an educated generation.
VP Faisal made the statement on Sunday while addressing the gathering held to inaugurate Kaamil Didi Primary School in Hulhumale' Phase II.
Noting the role of teachers, parents, and the government in facilitating the process of building an educated generation, VP Faisal said that both parents and the nation have high expectations and hopes for the student's future. He added that this can only be achieved through collective efforts.
VP Faisal further added that graduates should be equipped with the skill set and knowledge to face challenges in life, and that graduates should be productive members of the society who can earn a living by utilising their skills.
He also emphasised on the importance of exemplifying good behaviour. As such, VP Faisal he urged the communities to ensure children learn morals and ethical values.
VP Faisal also spoke on the life of Uz. Ahmed Kaamil Didi and his contributions to Dhivehi literature and development of the education sector.
Kaamil Didi Primary School is the first school to open in Hulhumale' Phase II, adjacent to Hiya Towers. The school was opened with 824 students and 65 staff.
