Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced that the mini bus service service in Male' will begin on Monday.
MTCC has been test driving mini buses in Male' City to finalise the bus routes. As such, MTCC has announced 3 bus routes for mini buses in Male' City.
MTCC announced that mini buses will travel on Ameenee Magu, Majeedhee Magu, Orchid Magu, and Sosun Magu with a total of 47 bus stops.
Mini bus ticket fares have been set at MVR 7, however the bus rides are free for toddlers under the age of 3, senior citizens, and students in school uniform.
MTCC will operate 18 mini buses in Male' City which come with a total of 20 seats each including wheelchair spots. The mini buses will also have a 10-pax capacity for standing passengers.
The mini bus operation is part of the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) project by the current Administration.
MTCC has begun high-speed ferry services in the atolls under the RTL project, and is set to begin bus service in the islands as well.
