Maldives Police Service (MPS) has said they have received the postmortem report of Shiau Mohamed Saeed, and that investigation is ongoing.

MPS said they received the postmortem report on 17 August and they are continuing forensic investigation into Shiau's murder.

"We are working on completing the investigation and submitting documents for prosecution", MPS said.

MPS Media Official told 'One' the authorities will share information on the case as investigation unfolds, but did not provide any details regarding the postmortem report.

Shiau's - who was found murdered on 7 August - postmortem was conducted in India and her funeral was held in Fuvahmulah City.

MPS had arrested Ali Shahil, 23, from the crime scene on the same night and Shahil remains in custody until the case is over.
