Criminal Court on Thursday decided to release Mohamed 'Yaya' Nabeel, 37, from remand stating he is not a threat to society.
Nabeel was arrested on Wednesday after his nude photos and videos were posted on social media.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) said on Friday that Criminal Court ruled against keeping Nabeel in remand, but that the investigation was ongoing.
Criminal Court statement on Nabeel's release said he was released because he was not deemed a threat to society.
Nabeel was arrested on 11 September 2021 after posting nudes on his TikTok. He was remanded for a month citing he may destroy evidence pertaining to the investigation.
He was released on 14 October on the condition that he would not post on social media for two months.
Nabeel however continues to post similar content across his social media channels.
