President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday constituted the R. Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital (URH) Board.

President Solih appointed members to the URH Board as follows:

  • Mohamed Saamiu – Regional Financial Sector Representative
  • Dr Hawwa Inaya Abdul Raheem – Independent Health Sector Expert
  • Fathimath Nasheeda Mohamed – Representative of Ministry of Health
  • Ali Ibrahim - Public Representative
  • Adam Mahir - Hospital-In-Charge
  • Moosa Umar Manik- Atoll Council Member

President Solih appointed Mohamed Saamiu as the Chairperson of URH's governing board.

President Solih also handed over the management of 14 regional health facilities in R Atoll to URH, effective 1 September 2022.

The current Administration is working on developing URH as a tertiary hospital.
