Criminal Court on Wednesday rescheduled the May 6 Blast hearings citing administrative issues in taking anonymous witness statements.
Criminal Court spent 1.5hrs trying to present anonymous witness statements during the hearing, but rescheduled due to administrative issues.
Thasleem and Ali Manik, who have been identified as the masterminds behind the May 6 Blast aimed at Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed in 2021, have previous records of acts of terrorism as well.
Ali Manik was arrested after the Himandhoo incident in 2007 and charged with terrorism. He was sentenced for 10 years on 15 May 2008.
The State also presented Police Intelligent Report on Ali Manik's previous involvements in acts of terror. As such, the State presented witnesses against Ali Manik stating that the latter was involved in the 2020 attack on 3 tourists in Hulhumale' as 'revenge' against the State for taking his children into State care.
Police Intelligent Report against Thasleem stated that he had asked for 'expert opinion' on how to make IEDs. Thasleem was arrested in 2017 for making an IED at a private company's office.
