Parliament on Wednesday passed to appoint Aishath Shan Shakir as non-resident ambassador to six countries.

Her name was passed with the votes of 49 members, out of 54 who were present.

With this, Aishath Shan Shakir will be the non-resident ambassador for the Russia Federation; Republic of Finland; Kingdom of Sweden; Kingdom of Norway; Denmark and Ukraine.

Aishath Shan Shakir is currently filling in as the Ambassador of the Maldives to Germany.
