Maldives Media Council (MMC) and the Chinese Embassy in Maldives have held discussions on potential opportunities to train Maldivian journalists in China.

Members of the council on Thursday met with Ambassador Wang Lixin and Attache Wang Longhoa. The discussions were attended by President of Maldives Media Council Mohamed Mr. Shafau Hassan, Member Mr. Ali Hussain, Member Mr. Ahmed Moosa and Secretary General of the Council Dr. Ibrahim Sameer.

During the meeting, discussions were mainly focused on inviting Maldivian journalists to China for field trips. Furthermore, assisting in strengthening the technical capability of MMC, providing scholarships and potential future collaboration were also discussed.

Ambassador Wang Lixin assured the Council that she would work towards facilitating training opportunities for Maldivian journalists.
