A high-level joint mission from World Health Organisation (WHO) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have arrived in the Maldives to provide technical advise on controlling non-communicable diseases (NCD).
Health Ministry said the delegation will review the current NCD interventions, specially for cancer control and cancer care. The Ministry also highlighted their ongoing works with WHO to compile a guideline for preventive measures and technical support needed in providing medical treatments.
WHO delegation will remain in the Maldives until 25 August and will meet with consult with relevant authorities and officials of cancer facilities.
The delegation is set to make recommendations to the Administration on the required improvements in health care.
