President's Office Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez has tendered his resignation.

'One' has come to know that Mabrook tendered his resignation prior to MDP's Congress which was held last weekend. However, the administration has not publicised details of the resignation.

Mabrook resigned while on leave.

Mabrook was appointed as Spokesperson to the President in January 2021. Mabrook formerly served as the Undersecretary at the President's Office.

As Undersecretary, Mabrook also headed the National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) during the Covid-19 lockdown.

He also ran for Felidhoo constituency parliament seat under MDP's ticket, losing to PNC candidate Ibrahim Fazul.
