Maldives Police Service (MPS) has made two arrests in connection to the break-in and assault on a man at MediaNet office.

MPS arrested a 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old man after masked men broke into MediaNet office and attacked an employee. The latter suffered injuries to his head during the attack.

Criminal Court has ordered the 22-year-old to be detained until the case is resolved, and the 19-year-old to be remanded until investigations are over.

The 22-year-old arrested is Ahmed Ashwan, M. Roshanee Manzil. He has been charged with aggravated assault using a weapon.

Ashwan has denied the charges against him.
