Jumhooree Party's (JP) deputy leader and former Transport Minister, Ameen Ibrahim, has returned to Maldives after 7 years in the UK.

Ameen arrived in Maldives on Monday morning and was welcomed by JP's leader and MP for Maamigili constitution, Qasim Ibrahim and the party's leadership.

Ameen left Maldives after being released from prison after a month following May Day strikes in 2015.

Addressing the media from Velana International Airport (VIA) after Ameen's arrival, Qasim said his return will strengthen JP's work.
