Environment Ministry has officially launched 'Fasgandu' campaign on Tuesday, to promote sustainable waste management.
The campaign was launched at a special ceremony by Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali, with Environment Minister Aminath Shauna, cabinet ministers, and senior officials of World Bank in attendance together with Local Council presidents.
According to Environment Ministry, a monthly newsletter will be published as part of the 'Fasgandu' campaign, inclusive of awareness content created by students.
'Fasgandu' newsletter, which was prepared by N. Maafaru and N. Kudafaree students, was inaugurated by Minister Shauna.
The campaign will provide information on health, education, economy, gender, and social sector. During the ceremony, a web portal with campaign content was also launched alongside the campaign song.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Shauna said that sustainable waste management is crucial for the development of the nation. She thanked World Bank for their assistance with the campaign as well as everyone who had assisted to make it a reality.
