The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) is pressing charges against four individuals accused of homosexuality.

The PGO noted on Monday that they are pressing charges against four individuals with regards to the recent scandal involving prominent Maldivian figures and a Bangladeshi citizen being involved in homosexuality. As such, they noted that the charges have been submitted to the Criminal Court on the 18th of August.

Those who are being charged include Bangladeshi citizen Alamgiri, Maldivian lawyer Nazim Sattar, Colonel Nasheed, and police officer Abdul Rahman Rafeeu.

All of the accused have been released from custody except Alamgiri.
