President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that he is confident that MDP will win the 2023 elections, and that he does not see any other party winning majority votes.

President Solih made the remarks at the final session of the MDP Congress which has been ongoing since Friday. He added that despite the tension among leadership, the Congress has been a success and MDP remains an exemplary political party.

He added that MDP must work together to win against opposing political candidates in the 2023 presidential elections. He further added that MDP will decide on a presidential candidate as per MDP's regulations.

"We must support our presidential candidate. We are a big political party with a large following. We are an exemplary party. I do not believe any other political party can win the 2023 elections against MDP", President Solih said.

He added that MDP must gear up for the elections and begin campaign work together with the party committees and members.
