Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has conducted a trial run of RTL Mini Bus Service in the capital city.
"A trial run of RTL Mini Bus Service was conducted with the service stakeholders today. The objective was to physically experience the bus routes to improve our customer experience before the service officially commences," MTCC said in a tweet.
To facilitate a smooth service, several bus stops are being developed in the city in addition to Majeedhee Magu being declared a no-parking area.
The company further added that till September 14, they will be conducting these trial runs during which the services will be free. In addition to this, school students, children under the age of three, people with disabilities and seniors over the age of 65 will not have to pay for the RTL bus services at any time.
MTCC had procured 41 mini buses to begin the RTL Mini Bus service in Male' City and several islands across the country. They highlighted that these buses are fit to be around smaller roads found in several islands.
