Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is investigating the incident where a platform used to construct the Thilamale' Bridge ran aground the Villimale' reef yesterday.
The platform had run aground around 2:45pm yesterday, which injured three people.
Speaking to ONE Online regarding the incident, Director General at EPA Ibrahim Naeem revealed that the agency is investigating the incident.
He further noted that they had not begun to estimate the damages on the reef and added that as the incident has been brought to their attention, they are currently collecting the necessary informatiion regarding the incident.
The construction of the bridge began early August. following which sea travel was banned at the channel between Male' and Villimale'.
Under the Greater Male Connectivity Project, the bridge will connect Male, Villimale', Gulhifalhu and Thilafushi.
