One of the most prominent singers in the Maldives, Mohamed Huzam passed away on Thursday night.

Sources claim that Huzam passed away while seeking medical treatment in Bengaluru, India. However it remains unclear as to why he was seeking medical treatment.

Huzam was 48 years old at the time of his passing.

He was one of the most prominent singers in the Maldives during the 2000s, has contributed many songs to mainstream movies as well. However, it has been a while since he has been away from the music scene.

Huzam had also won first place in the TVM Singing Competition twice, and had pursued higher education in the field of engineering.
