Island Aviations (IAS) which manages the National Airline, Maldivian, has said that the Airline will investigate any and all incidents that could potentially risk their passengers and crew's safety.
IAS made the remarks after a video was circulated on social media showing a 'Maldivian' pilot allegedly turning off one of the engines while flying the plane.
IAS released a statement on Wednesday stating that the safety of their passengers and crew is their top priority, and that any incident that would put the passengers and crew at risk will be duly investigated.
"We will take all necessary actions to ensure the safety of the passengers and the crew", IAS statement said.
IAS added that the National Airline is run per the regulations set by Civil Aviations Authority, and that the latter closely monitors all safety regulations.
