Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has said Velana International Airport (VIA)'s check-in system issues have not been resolved completely.
MACL official told 'One' on Tuesday that while the major issue has been solved, they still require a lot of system upgrades.
The MACL official said the delays in check-in is due to a software issue in the system, which has been resolved but requires systems to be shut down for needed upgrades. The official said it would take an additional 2-3 days to resolve the issue and that MACL staff will do manual check-in for passengers at VIA in the meantime.
The official said that they have not been able to identify the exact issue with the check-in system as of yet.
The check-in system issue occurred on 1 August 2022, resulting in both domestic and international flight delays.
