A Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) officer has been suspended for allegedly engaging in homosexuality.
MNDF media officer told 'One' that an MNDF officer has been suspended over a leaked video of him allegedly engaging in homosexuality, but did not provide any further details.
Multiple men have been suspended or fired from their jobs in government and other institutions over leaked videos that show them allegedly engaging in homosexuality with a Bangladeshi resident, Alamghir.
The state has seized the passports of 18 individuals in relation to the leaked videos. 'One' has come to know from unofficial sources that the MNDF officer is among those whose passport's have been seized.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) has made 4 arrests until now - Alamghir, lawyer Nazim Sattar, former MP (Kaanal) Nasheed, and a Drug Enforcement Department officer at MPS, Abdul Rahman Rafeeu.
In a separate case, former journalist Ali Naseer was also arrested over a video of him allegedly engaging in homosexuality.
