Former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that peace can be established in the South Asian region when Pakistan establishes a new chapter against terrorism.
President Nasheed took to twitter today to make the comment. He said in his tweet that Pakistan should be working against terrorism and terror groups in an effort to establish peace within the South Asian region.
Tensions had peaked in the Pakistani-Indian conflict recently and both nations had exchanged military attacks against the other.
The attacks exchanged last Saturday saw the loss of at least eight lives. Pakistan had shot down an Indian fighter jet and captured an Indian Wing Commander prior to that. It should be noted however that Pakistan had released the Indian pilot to the India last Saturday.
