Maldives Media Council (MMC) has opened application for the MMC 'Grant'.

MMC 'Grant' is given to journalists to promote news reporting in certain areas. MMC announced grant categories on Monday. Four applications will be selected for a MVR 3000 grant by MMC.

MMC 'Grant' categories:

  • Climate and environment
  • Good governance
  • Gender equality
  • Financial reporting
  • Investigative journalism
  • Interested candidates are urged to submit MMC 'Grant' application before 1300hrs on 9 August.
  • Grants will be provided to applicants based on the information sources, news angle, uniqueness, and potential implications of the story.
  • As such, applicants are advised to submit a story idea in 100 words along with proposal information source, news angle and uniqueness.
