MNDF holds parade to celebrate independence day

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has held a parade to celebrate the 57th Independence Day of the Maldives, after a two year hiatus.

The parade that began from the Republic Square came to an end at Kalhuthuhkalaa Koshi.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed observed the special parade and procession at the Republic Square.

Upon arrival in-front of the Republic Square, the President and First Lady were cordially received by the Minister Defense, Mariya Ahmed Didi and Chief of Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal.

During the event, the President was offered a presidential salute by the Maldives National Defence Force. It was then followed by the National Anthem, performed by an ensemble orchestra comprising of members from the Maldives National Defence Force. The event was concluded by a military parade and procession.

Vice President Faisal Naseem and other senior government officials along with the members of general public attended the event.
