Hulhumale' Hospital has stated that they are investigating the case of a pregnant woman delivering her baby inside an elevator at the hospital.

The hospital revealed that the Quality Assurance Department at the hospital is currently probing the incident, which occurred on July 16th. They further added that the hospital will not be hesitant to further increase the quality of their services and assuring that patient care is provided to the best of their capacity.

However, as the incident is still being investigated, the hospital did not provide any further details.

Local media reports claim that the woman had given birth inside the elevator as she was on the way to being taken to the labor room after the heartbeat of the baby was not found. It is also claimed that the baby was a stillborn.

They further noted that their aim is to assure the safety of patients and provide services that are up to an acceptable standard to the public.
