Male' City Council has announced Vilimale' local market spaces will be leased for MVR 1050 a month.

The announcement was made during the official City Council meeting on Thursday.

Male' City Mayor, Mohamed Muizzu, said the lease price includes MRV 50 charge for waste collection.

Speaking at the meeting, Mayor Muizzu said the works on the market have been completed and the market has been handed over to the council. He added that businesses should be allowed to operate in the market soon to reduce losses.

He further added that the council will gazette the announcement for the local market lease next week. Mayor Muizzu requested a draw for the spaces to be held to select businesses that will operate in the spaces and the latter to be handed over to the selected parties by 15 August.
