Local paediatrician Ahmed Faisal has said Covid-19 cases are on the rise among children and that IGMH's paediatric ward is full.

Dr. Faisal tweeted on Wednesday that with the Covid-19 numbers on the rise, there is a possibility that Covid-19 positive children may have to be sent to Hulhumale' Covid facility.

While Covid-19 cases among children are on the rise, HPA statistics reveal Covid numbers have declined in the first two weeks of July.

A total of 771 Covid-19 cases were reported in the first week of July, with the numbers decreasing to 417 between 10-16 July.
