An Indian national has been arrested in Male' City over alleged sexual abuse of a minor.

Maldives Police Services (MPS) said on Friday that they received report of a 15-year-old boy being abused on 11 July. MPS said they arrested a 52-year-old Indian on 12 July in relation to the report.

MPS added that Criminal Court has ordered the man to be held in remand until investigations are complete. Currently investigations are still ongoing, MPS said.
