Maldives Police Service (MPS) said the 17-year-old who went missing on July 10 has been found safe and sound.

The teenage girl's family told 'One' that Aminath Zara Riyaz, 17, went missing on 10 July. She was last seen leaving her house around 1430hrs.

The family said the teen spoke to her mother around 2100hrs that night on Viber, saying that she was at a friend's place near 80. number fihaara and will go to Rasfannu after prayers. However, the teen's phone was switched off afterwards, leading the family to start searching for her.

MPS said on Tuesday that the girl has been found safe and sound and the authorities are investigating the matter.
