The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has opened applications for the vacant seat of a Judge at the Criminal Court.

The announcement comes following the decision by JSC to appoint Dheebanaaz Fahmy to the High Court, who was previously serving in the High Court.

A statement by the JSC noted that the application window will be open till August 7th.

With the service allowances, Criminal Court Judges receive MVR 48,000 per month as a salary. This includes an MVR 30,000 basic salary, MVR 15,000 as a living allowance and a risk allowance of MVR 3,300.

The decision to appoint her to the High Court was made after Judge Abdulla Hameed's dismissal, and Judge Abdul-Rauf Ibrahim's resignation.
