Former President, Mohamed Nasheed, has said that there was no sight of a coalition when it was time to pass the bill to empower the Commission formed by the President, Ibrahim M. Solih, to investigate the corruption.
He made the remarks while speaking at a campaign of the Parliament hopeful, Hisan Hussain, running for Thulaadhoo constituency on the MDP ticket.
The former President said that since the presidential campaign, the coalition has raised their voice against corruption.
Nasheed said that when the bill against corruption came to parliament after winning the election, the same members who supported and joined the coalition did not vote for it.
He said that justice must be granted to the people of the country and the judicial system needs reform.
