Pakistan has reported that the country has shot down two Indian fighter jets that entered Pakistani military airspace.

The Pakistani Minister of Foreign Affairs released a statement saying that while the Indian fighter jets have been shot down, one of the pilots have been arrested.

The statement reiterated that the Pakistani air force had only shot down what was within the airspace under the Pakistan’s line of control.

A spokesman for the Pakistani army, Major General Asif Ghafoor had reported that two Indian fighter jets had entered Pakistan’s airspace. India had previously said that more than three Pakistani combat jets had entered the airspace of Indian-administered Kashmir.

Several airports in India has been shut down and Pakistan officially shut down their airspace on Wednesday as tensions have risen among the two countries.
